A UAE brand can reach Ozon shoppers in two main ways: sell cross-border through Ozon Global, or import stock into Russia and sell from a Russian warehouse. Both work, but they suit different stages of a business.
Cross-border through Ozon Global
- The store is registered to your UAE company; payouts go to your UAE bank account
- Stock stays in the UAE; each order ships as a parcel
- No Russian company, no import of whole batches, no product marking for parcels to individual buyers
- Delivery is slower, about two to three weeks
- Each parcel must fit the rules for personal-use quantities
This route is the fastest and cheapest way to test demand. You can list a range, see what sells and invest only after the market answers.
Importing stock into Russia
- You need an importer in Russia and certification for many product groups
- Many goods require «Честный знак» marking when sold from Russian warehouses
- Stock sits in Ozon warehouses, so delivery takes one to three days
- Money is tied up in stock, and unsold goods are hard to bring back
This route makes sense once you know which products sell steadily and the volume justifies the paperwork.
Our view
For most UAE brands we recommend starting cross-border, proving demand with real orders and only then deciding whether a Russian warehouse is worth it.
