Ozon is one of Russia’s largest online marketplaces, with about 65 million active buyers in 2025. Through Ozon Global, a brand registered in the UAE can sell to these buyers without opening a company or a warehouse in Russia. Here is how it works in practice.
1. The store is opened in your company’s name
You register as a cross-border seller on Ozon Global with your UAE trade licence, mainland or free zone. The account, the listings and the reviews belong to your company. Ozon pays you directly to your corporate bank account, usually in USD.
2. Stock stays in the UAE
You do not ship pallets to Russia. When a customer orders, you pack one parcel and drop it off at Ozon’s logistics partner GBS Broker UAE in Al Karama, Dubai. The partner handles export, customs and delivery to a pickup point near the customer. In practice delivery takes about 2–3 weeks from drop-off.
3. Know the parcel rules
- Parcels up to 25 kg, for personal-use quantities, up to 3 identical items each.
- Shipping is charged per parcel plus weight, from about USD 4.60 per parcel plus USD 1.12 per 100 g.
- Parcels worth more than 1,000 AED need an export declaration, which costs extra.
- Some goods are restricted: perishable food, alcohol-based perfume in large volumes, supplements without Russian registration. Check each product before listing.
4. Listings in Russian decide sales
Russian shoppers search in Russian. A good product card needs a translated title with the right keywords, clear photos and infographics, and a price that already includes delivery. This is where most new sellers lose sales.
5. What sells well from the UAE
Oil-based perfumes and attar, bakhoor and oud, cosmetics, modest fashion and gift sets for Ramadan and Eid travel well as parcels and match what Russian shoppers look for in products from the Gulf.
